Book Review: The Guernsey Literary... ((sigh)) this is a very long title

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really really enjoyed this book. I liked the letter format- I was surprised how well you can get to know characters this way. The main character, Juliet, was such a wonderfully strong female character, particularly given the time period (just after WWII). But really, this book had no lack of characters to love. Sidney and Dawsey were both awesome. I loved the development of the love story and the unfolding of the story about Guernsey during the occupation. The only thing I didn't like was that there were so many characters in the beginning, it was hard to keep track of them, though it was much easier by the second half.
