A year ago today, we left our home state of Colorado to begin a new adventure in Baltimore.
We sold our somewhat character-less, suburban, 2200 sq. ft home in cow country with a view of Long's Peak from the front door, and bought a charming, built in 1875, not quite 1000 sq. ft home in the middle of a bustling city.
I went from being a graduate student to being a full-time scientist.
Kevin went from being a full-time engineer to a medical student.
We've learned a lot of lessons in the last year. Like, that basements are really a must-have (even ones that are too small to actually stand up in). And that anatomy lessons should not be discussed during dinner (particularly any dinner involving red sauce).
That Colorado really is the most beautiful place in the world to live....
... but almost every place has something wonderful to offer (in our case, our deck, Ft. McHenry, and Fed Hill Park are all places we treasure in Baltimore).
That any place is pretty much home when we're together.
And that a single year goes by insanely fast.
Wow, has it really been a year already? I have to agree with you, Colorado is the most beautiful place to live.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it you'll be moving for residency - it really does fly by!
ReplyDeleteGood grief, has it really been a year? I swear we just got coffee and talked about the Josephine books.
ReplyDeleteI know... crazy right?
