Maine: Part II
After we spent our first day walking along the rocky shores of Maine, the next day a trip on the sailboat was in order.
Now, I love the idea of sailboats- they look awesome, they're adventurous, they get you out into the beautiful sea- but I am not built to be a sailor. I get queasy really easily. On our last trip I really almost got sick, so this time I took some dramamine. It definitely helped, but there were still a couple of iffy moments, though sailing along the coast was beautiful, and we had some yummy sandwiches.

Then we went to get some lobster at the Five Islands pier- oh, I love this place! It's just what you would picture when you think of Maine. I mean, look at the view!

They bring up fresh lobster in these lobster traps every day- many of the locals around here are lobstermen:

Then the lobster are served up fresh and steamed with butter right on the pier. This time, I tried the lobster roll- very yummy! All that lobster and no work. Though I did miss the melted butter. Even better, ice cream is also sold right on the pier. :)

The next day, we headed to Reid State Park- a lovely little Maine beach, a rare sandy treat along the rocky coast.

Okay - I just sent this really long message telling you how much I loved the first shot and thanking you for the comment and follow today...then it erased. So, I can't say it the way I just did, but I'm looking forward to seeing more. I'm following back. Have a great weekend.
Hi, I am visiting from the HOP - I know this is the wrong place to be, but I see Maine and I think LOBSTER! So I had to come to this post. Please tell me you had a lobster roll. I live on the Gulf Coast and my goal in life is to go to the Rockport Maind LobsterFest!!
Your photography is beautiful. Wish I could be right there - although it is a lovely Labor Day weekend here on the Gulf Coast.
I hope you will have a chance to visit one or both of my blogs: LibrarysCat and Never Forget !!
Have a great weekend!
