Recipe: Raspberry Brown Sugar Gratin

I think I'm a Smitten Kitchen addict. We recently made this raspberry brown sugar gratin for dessert one night- yum! It's sort of healthy- except for the mounds of brown sugar :). It doesn't look like anything special, but something about this combination- a little tartness and creaminess from the yogurt, the bright berry taste of the raspberries, and the caramel-y sugar from the broiled brown sugar- is fantastic.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh raspberries or other berry
2 cups sour cream, creme fraiche, or Greek yogurt (what we used)
1 cup dark brown sugar (I used more like 1/2 cup since I was using this small ramekins)

Directions

Preheat broiler. Gently fold raspberries and yogurt together in a shallow 1-quart dish (or individual ramekins). Sprinkle the brown sugar as evenly as possible over the top. Put the dish under the broiler until the sugar just starts to caramelize. Eat at once.
