Confession: I have had this smoothie every day of my pregnancy that I've been home. I love it so much. I think the baby likes it too.
You know how sometimes if you make a smoothie with ice- after about 2 minutes the smoothie separates? Well, this smoothie never does that. It's the best. thing. ever.

What do you need to make this delicious treat?
(1) About 1/3 cup dried oats (the secret ingredient!)
(2) A banana
(3) Some kind of frozen fruit
(4) Juice and/or milk
(4) Optional honey or sweetener (I don't use any- but I know Kevin likes it a little sweeter)
(5) Optional: anything else you can think of! I've tried spinach, lime juice, coconut milk, other kinds of fruit, etc... it's all delicious!
Here are the steps:
(1) Put the oats in the blender. Blend them all up so they make a bit of a powder. This is what keeps the smoothie from separating! You won't even be able to taste the oats once the smoothie is made- and it adds fiber!
(2) Add banana, broken into pieces. Add frozen fruit (I love blueberries the best- usually just about 1/2 cup). Add your milk/juice (I use a combination of both, especially if I'm just using one kind of frozen fruit)- just enough to not quite cover the banana and fruit. Add any optional ingredients (spinach is awesome here because you can't taste it AT ALL and yet you're getting spinach in your diet!! I have a hard time getting all my daily veggies so I love this option!). Blend it all up!
