Marvelous Maine

We had a wonderful trip to Maine! It's only an hour flight or so, which was perfect practice for Nora's first time on a plane. I nursed on takeoff and landing (well, I pretty much nursed the whole flight because it was so short) and that seemed to work well. It wasn't too bad with Kevin's help- I'm a little worried about a future trip by myself with Nora just because there's so much stuff to bring, and the flight will be longer.

But Maine- it was so great to get out of the heat of Baltimore summers and head somewhere with cool breezes and (mostly) sunny days. We went here last year as well because Kevin's parents spend their summers there. We stay in this cute little boathouse:

This year I had to spend a lot of time nursing the baby but it wasn't so bad when the views are so pretty and there are so many family members to visit with.

Kevin's relatives from Vermont, including 3 of Nora's great-grandparents, were all there and it was wonderful to spend time with them. We got lots of family photos:

Four generations!

Our nephew is now about 14 months old- he's almost exactly a year older than Nora, and it was so much fun to see what we could expect a year from now! Hopefully next year the cousins will be able to play together more.

We got lots of pictures of the great-grandparents!

And then the whole group that was there:

Since we had so many built-in babysitters :), Kevin and I also had some time to enjoy the outdoors- including several nice rowboat trips around the harbor area. Also we took Nora on a lot of walks. It was funny though- I don't think she liked the peace and quiet of Maine, because she started crying on every walk. So we brought along our white noise app on our phone that sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I think we got a few strange looks as people passed us!
