Christmas Recap

I didn't get very good pictures at Christmas- I must learn how to take better photos in low light!  I'm working on getting better with my 50mm lens so maybe this will help since it lets more light in (I think.  I'm not very camera savvy).  So a lot of the photos I was forced to use flash so everyone looks like they are in headlights.

Still, the important thing is that we had a nice Christmas with our families, though we certainly missed my brother and sister and their spouses.  I think we got to see most everyone else though during the week.

On Christmas Eve, we went to the Wildlife Experience in Denver with Nora.  The good news was all the other kids were at the breakfast with Santa that this place was hosting, so we basically had the entire place to ourselves.  It was great for a toddler- older kids might get a little bored I think.  Nora liked looking at all the moving animals that made sounds!

I totally forgot my camera, so these photos are from my mom's phone- looking at the elephant, and kayaking the rapids!

Here's my little elf at home- I wish this photo weren't blurry!

On Christmas Eve night, we went over for drinks to Kevin's family's house, and Nora got to dress up- she was so beautiful. Of course these pictures don't quite capture it. It is hard to get a 1 year old to stand still! She did learn how to say "cheese" for photos by the end of the week.

This is the best posed photo of the two of us that we got before we went to the party:

Nora loved playing with these metal Nativity people at my mom's house:

We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner at my parents' house. The next day (Kevin was nice and got up with Nora at 5am, her wake-up time for the first several days we were there thanks to the time change), we opened presents. First at my parents' house (where Santa delivered gifts) and then at Kevin's cousin's house. Lots of gifts and family time. Nora loved opening the gifts once she realized she wouldn't get in trouble for pulling the paper off. She thought it was a lot of fun to get all those new things!

Happy to be reading her new Elmo book with Nana (and her new Elmo doll, which she carries around everywhere):

Learning how to use the beautiful toy wooden ferris wheel that her aunt Anne got her for Christmas (yeah, she got to wear pajamas all day):

Thinking, "This Christmas thing is pretty great!"

Anyway, there's the photo dump from the holiday- more about the rest of the week in Colorado coming up soon.
